The Arts Society Isle of Wight has a large membership and was founded in 1982 .

We meet at Northwood House, Ward Avenue, Cowes, Isle of Wight. An historical and beautiful setting that fits with our ethos of preserving local heritage.

Each season we arrange:

  • LECTURES from September through to July covering a diversity of subjects are given by highly acclaimed lecturers, who are drawn from the Directory, maintained by the Arts Society Head Office. They are all experts in their specialist fields within decorative, fine arts, music and other artistic fields. The lectures are illustrated using visual and audio aids. A limited number of non-members are welcome to attend as visitors,or online for which a donation of £10 per lecture will be made. Advance booking must made through the Lecture page of the website. Lectures will also be broadcast on Zoom with the agreement of the lecturer.
  • VISITS to places of historical and architectural interest, museums, art galleries and exhibitions.
  • TOURS are occasionally organised both in the UK and abroad.
  • STUDY DAYS These Days generally have three one hour illustrated lectures investigating a subject in greater depth than a monthly lecture.
  • EVENTS We hold 2 social events each season [Winter & Summer] - usually lunches at comfortable venues with pleasant views.
